The learning objectives catalog supports lesson planning, provides publishers with a foundation for the development of textbooks, and was used as the basis for the development of work-oriented German tests (Deutsch-Tests für den Beruf). The programme of work-oriented language courses offers migrants in Germany a variety of German courses. The aim is to improve their chances on the job and training market. This catalog of work-oriented learning objectives shows in detail which linguistic competencies work-oriented language courses at levels A2 to C1 are intended to impart.
The learning objectives were developed primarily on an empirical basis in a collaboration between the Institut für Testforschung und Testentwicklung e. V. (ITT) and telc gGmbH. They were commissioned by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees, which implements work-oriented language training on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
The learning objectives

- follow a clear system of learning objectives,
- are defined in detail for the CEFR levels A2 to C1,
- are supplemented with strategic competencies and extra-linguistic knowledge
- and provide an indispensable foundation for lesson planning, textbook and test development.
